Hello Brooke,
My name is Swiss from my Grandfather Ernst Plüss, who came out to Australia at the turn of the last century, met Eileen in Melbourne (my Nan) and never went back. So, my Plüss ancestry is Swiss but almost all the rest is English/Irish.
That was the easy one to answer. I did intend to write other books about Kit but at the moment I'm working on other things. Mainly, a contemporary novel for teenagers I'm really enjoying. I do have some ideas about what might happen in a sequel. I always thought that Kit and her mother would have settled in Adelaide proper, where they would have bought land and built a beautiful house. There are houses in Adelaide dating from the mid-late 1800's that I could imagine Kit and her mother living in, with fruit trees and grape vines in the back yard. I think that they would have wanted to buy something of their own and I'm sure that they wouldn't return to England. I do wonder about Kit and Gabriel myself because you don't always end up with your first love and sometimes I think it's better that you don't. But then I think that perhaps he is her true love, so she should end up with him? But right now I don't know if he is her true love or her first love, or both. But he is a catch, without a doubt :)
Thanks for your comment. I loved it <3

Hi Nicole.
I have just finished reading 'Scout' and was blown away by the story of Kit. It was an amazing book and I have recommended it to all of my friends. I know a lot of authors finish a book without exactly letting us know what happened to the character/s. I am very interested in knowing what happened to Kit, her mother and Angel. I am pretty sure they went to Kangaroo Island to the lighthouse (as you hinted in the last couple of pages), however what I really want to know is what happened to Angel/Gabriel. As the author, what do you think happened to them? Will there be a second book? It doesn't seem like a trilogy but I would love a follow-up book!!!!!
I can't wait to read your other novels. Oh and one more question.... Do you have German ancestry? Your last name sounds German so was just wondering :)
Thanks,
Brooke (17 years old)

Congratulations on "Scout" making it onto the CBCA list of notable books for 2011 (one of only five South Aussies to make it).

In year 8 ( 1998 ) I read Beach Baby about 7 times. The school had to order another copy of the book because I always had it borrowed out when other kids wanted or needed to read it. When I came back to that school in 2000 I again borrowed it out BUT noticed one of the pages were missing because I knew the book cover to cover. Notified the school of this and got new copies sent to the school.

Thank you for your books. As a teenager I loved to read them and am even searching for a copy of Beach Baby for my book collection. I am now 26 and a mother.

Thank you Nicole.
